Mr. Buentello joined the firm in January 2010 and serves in the Compliance and Accounting Departments of Estrada Hinojosa.
Prior to joining Estrada Hinojosa, Mr. Buentello worked at the Dallas Office of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or FINRA, for over five years, earning the title of Senior Examiner. As an Examiner, Mr. Buentello conducted regulatory examinations of registered firms helping to ensure compliance with regulatory rules and requirements. His regulatory experience involved a broad range of compliance issues relating to equity, fixed income and insurance products. Additionally, Mr. Buentello conducted reviews of registered firms’ anti-money laundering programs and supervisory policies and procedures. Prior to his regulatory experience, Mr. Buentello was employed as an accountant at a local bank in South Texas and assisted in the preparation of financial statements. While at The University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Buentello interned at Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Buentello currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the Fine Arts Chamber Players of Dallas. The Fine Arts Chamber Players is a non-profit organization established in 1981 that provides free concerts of classical music and educational activities to Dallas-area residents.
