Mr. Kalina brings to the Estrada Hinojosa team extensive experience in finance, specializing in the structuring of complex and intricate financings. Mr. Kalina has structured revenue and general obligation bond financing and refunding transactions for state and local government entities. He has structured and executed securitizations of cash flows from portfolios of loans, bonds, and real estate and equipment leases and tobacco payments. He was involved in derivative product development and application, including option bonds, interest rate swaps, and custodial receipt programs.
In addition to being a public finance investment banker, Mr. Kalina served as financial advisor to state and local governmental entities as well as to private sector developers on domestic and international infrastructure projects. His assignments included financings for water and sewer systems, toll roads and bridges, hotels and convention centers, and airport facilities. In the capacity of senior banker, Mr. Kalina structured and closed financings for the City of New York, the State of Connecticut, and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the District of Columbia, the City of Chicago, the City of Cleveland, the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority and the Delaware River Port Authority, among others.
